Claypaky Sharpy X Frames and Skylos Help Cro Take Fans on a Career-Spanning Journey on the Cronicles Tour 2024

German rapper and pop singer Cro took fans on a musical journey through his career, spanning more than a decade, when he played 11 dates in Germany, Austria and Switzerland on his Cronicles Tour 2024 supported by Claypaky Sharpy X Frame and Skylos lighting fixtures.

Creative Director Clemens Hofbauer devised the initial creative for the arena touring production with the aim of building a show within a very modern and contemporary world, which was versatile enough to support a narrative that took the audience from the artist’s past through the present and into his future. Hofbauer also provided production design and video content for the tour. Satis&Fy was the lighting and set vendor.

Lighting Designer Roland Greil of 360º Collective selected 67 versatile Claypaky Sharpy X Frames and 20 Skylos laser-source beam fixtures to illuminate the artist and the very minimalistic and contemporary stage architecture with clearly-defined shapes and a high-resolution LED roof. “The lighting supported, as well as extended the architecture and added the opportunity to transform the scenery together with the video content to support the show’s narrative,” Greil explains.

“I was looking for very defined and strong beams that allowed us to build architecture with lighting and extend the production design to tell a visual story. The two Claypaky fixture types I chose were perfect and delivered the looks I wanted. Furthermore, the versatility of the X Frames was super useful in creating a variety of different looks other than just beams.”

Greil distributed the Sharpy X Frames across the entire lighting rig while the Skylos were used as strong floor lights from upstage.

“Both units perfectly delivered the desired look and feel and performed flawlessly,” he reports. “And, as always, the support from Claypaky was great. I would also like to thank the artist, his management and the whole crew for a great collaboration, which once again proved to be the perfect breeding ground for creating some magic.”
